From Bend Parks and Recreation: "Larkspur Park has benches, paver walkways, Larkspur Trail, a restroom, a meadow, a shade shelter, bocce and horseshoe courts, and other active areas. The picnic shelter has a capacity of 16. Approximately 40% of the site is kept as a natural area preserving juniper trees, alpine current and rabbit brush, as well as habitat for quail and small mammals commonly found in Central Oregon."
Larkspur Park has the largest playground in Bend. The playground includes a tot-lot structure that has perimeter fencing and concrete block walls.
Two additional structures feature climbing walls, and bigger kid stuff. A series of curved ramps around each play structure provides an opportunity to run within the playground area.
Officially, the playground is called Rotary Centennial Playground. It was developed to be accessible to all children. More on that here.
Restrooms: Located adjacent to the play area, with doors that open in full view of the play area. A long system of trellises provides some shade for the grown-ups.
Safety: The only problem with the Larkspur play area is the fact that it's borders are more porous than the US/Canada frontier. There are lots of places where kids can leave the play area and disapear from your sight. Behind the restroom, into the parking lot, or out into the natural areas of the park.
Larkspur Trail is a multi-use path that starts at Larkspur Park and continues north to Bear Creek Road. There are some natural areas along the trail where the kids can practice their off road skills.
