Sage Elementary Playground (Redmond)

Sage Elementary is a relatively new school so the playground is still in great shape.  The play structure is arranged as a linear obstacle course, that is challenging for me (partly because it's meant for people of smaller stature), and completely beyond my preschoolers' abilities.    The little ones really gravitate toward the "spiderweb" structure.  It's a pretty fun place to practice climbing.

The playground also includes your typical elementary school offerings like swings, wallball walls, basketball hoops and a big map of the United States.

In case you're wondering, the City of Redmond has an agreement with the Redmond School District.  School playgrounds are technically part of the park system. Playgrounds must be available for public use during non-school hours.

The Sage playground can be accessed through the gate at the west end of the school.  Please keep the gate closed.

Restrooms: Sometimes there is a port-a-potty just outside the gate (intended for sports team use).  There is always a portable restroom at the cemetery next door.

Parking: Please don't block the clearly marked fire lanes.  People often park in the alley leading to the gate.  The parking lot is the safest bet.  The only open gate is located on the end of the school nearest the cemetery.

  1. Was trying to get into the playground area with my 2.4 year old on Saturday evening(2/15/14) but the gate was lockup with the chain. I thought it said "available for public use during non-school hours"

  2. Hi Tanya, I'm sorry to hear that the gate was locked at Sage. The gate should be unlocked during non-instructional hours and on weekends. I would recommend calling the school to ask if they know why it was locked last weekend. It may have been a simple custodian oversight.
