Smith Rock BMX Track, Redmond

 

Smith Rock BMX is a surprisingly fun outing for little kids on bikes.  Some of the whoop de doos are great for balance bikes, but it's hard to get traction  on the bigger ones.

The track is always open, but please follow the posted rules.  Wear a helmet, no remote control cars, stay off the berms (stay on the packed down part of the track).

 The track is located in a corner of the High Desert Sports Complex.  There are flush toilets, a small playground, and picnic tables across the parking lot near the softball fields.

If your kids lose interest in riding their bikes and start playing in the dirt, please get them away from the track.  We are fortunate to be able to use this facility, and we want to make sure that it stays open.

Kids as young as 5 are racing BMX, and I've heard that there is a Strider series at the Bend track.
