Cline Falls State Park (Redmond)

From Oregon State Parks: "On the banks of the Deschutes River lies a quaint rest area that provides plenty of shade for picnickers. An ideal place to stop for a break, lunch or simply to relax in the warm sun. The park provides fishing access to the river."

This is a great park, and that's a terrible description.  Cline Falls State Park can get pretty busy on warm summer days.  There is lots of parking and a large grassy field with low lying boulders that are great for kids to climb on.  A 50's era restroom building with flush toilets occupies one end of the field.

The actual Cline Falls is across the highway and downriver a bit.  Don't count on that area being kid friendly.

The best part of the park is that there are several semi-private little coves where little ones can wade safely (river levels fluctuate, depending on season and irrigation canals).

In the past, there have been problems with partying at Cline Falls.  Alcohol is now prohibited in the park, and a caretaker lives onsite during the summer.  The caretaker does a great job keeping the park clean.
