I rather like this little park on the north side of Awbrey Butte. It has the modern artsy/whimsical Kompan play equipment. Many of their products are kinetic sculptures, and I can appreciate that even though it makes me dizzy to watch kids play on them.
Besides the play equipment, Sawyer Uplands Park features a short paved loop path, but beware that kids riding their bikes around the path will be out of your sight at times.
In addition, a trail (the kind you find in the woods--unimproved dirt) leads down to the Deschutes River Trail. I can't make any recommendations on the suitability of this trail for hiking with kids because I haven't had a chance to hike it without kids yet.
Safety: This probably isn't a good place to take a two year old who has a tendency to run off. It's pretty easy to get out of sight pretty fast, and there are some steep drop-offs back there on the dirt trail. This setting of this playground would be nerve wracking for some parents I know.
Restrooms: No facilities are provided, but there are woods, and you can take care of business discreetly, should the need arise.
Parking: Street parking. This place is off the beaten path, and parking is unlikely to ever be a problem.
