Dry Canyon, Redmond

Riding along the Dry Canyon Mountain Bike Trail
The jewel of Redmond's park system is without a doubt the Dry Canyon.

There is a 3.5 mile paved trail from Quartz Avenue all the way to the sewage treatment plant (great destination, right?).  There is only one street crossing (Black Butte Avenue).  The trail goes through a tunnel under HWY 126/Highland Avenue and passes under the high arched Maple Street Bridge.

Along the way, you'll pass through two playgrounds (American Legion Park and  Sam Johnson Park).  Redmond's skate park, off leash dog park, and disk golf course are also located along the route.

Just off of the main trail and up a relatively steep paved trail is Redmond's best park playground, West Canyon Rim.

In addition to the paved trail, there is mountain bike trail for nearly the full length of the canyon with multiple trails in some areas.

It's worth noting that you can't access the Dry Canyon at very many points along its length.  The rock walls are a formidable barrier in many areas.  Several of the remaining access points are rather long staircases.
